My Experience in Belfast: Proud. Excited. Inspired.

I had the privilege last week to attend the opening of Alexander Mann Solutions’ newest Global Client Service Centre in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Returning to my home town and witnessing the excitement and buzz around this launch from within our company as well as from the wider Northern Ireland business community was truly one of the proudest moments of my professional life. This pride comes from a number of angles, which I thought I’d take the opportunity to share with you.Firstly, as a local girl, I am very proud that we chose Belfast and can contribute to the development of the local community on many levels. Through the Belfast centre supporting clients across Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Americas, we will be highlighting to major multinationals the incredible resources available in Northern Ireland and what an attractive location it is from a talent, investment and infrastructure perspective. We’re working towards making Belfast a Global Centre of Excellence in sourcing talent, which is one of the hottest topics in the world of talent acquisition and management.
Additionally, research has shown that the local talent wants to stay in the province, and we’ve created a compelling careers proposition for local talent, which provides deep professional career and skills development in partnership with Belfast Met & the Department of Learning Education & Skills as well as exposure as to our global clients and career opportunities. We’re at nearly 70 people today and will be building this to 250 over the next 5 years, focusing on ensuring we provide amazing career opportunities and experiences to help people reach their potential & my vision is also for Alexander Mann Solutions to be recognized as an Employer of choice in Northern Ireland
As a business, Alexander Mann Solutions is all about people. Meeting the local talent we’ve hired in Belfast, from experienced professionals to high potential, entry level graduates joining our development programme, is such an extraordinary experience, demonstrating the diverse, vibrant and rich nature of the Northern Ireland talent pool. From my experience, they’re an inspiring group who are totally aligned to our values as a business, of authenticity, bravery, passion and distinctiveness.
Finally, I’d like to highlight the warm welcome we’ve had from across the business community & political parties in Northern Ireland. Throughout the journey to our launch, our partners in Northern Ireland, from Invest NI to Belfast Met , have been enormously supportive demonstrating a true sense of authentic and collaborative partnership. Our whole leadership team is very excited about how we will be embedding in the broader community. An example of this is linked to something I am personally passionate about. We’ve chosen the Women’s Fund for Northern Ireland as our charity of choice, the charity provides support to foster and develop new opportunities for women entering or re-entering the workforce. Our teams on the ground supported by colleagues from across the business will be actively supporting this fantastic organisation.
If you’re ever visiting to Belfast, I’d be delighted to show you around our Global Client Service Centre so you can meet our phenomenal talent and experience the excitement I’ve hopefully shared throughout this post.
